Karma Salford Evesham Wedding Band

Karma Salford Hall was built in the 14th century as a living space for monks from the nearby Evesham Abbey. Of course it has since been converted into a wonderful hotel for weddings, corporate events, live music events and much more. It features thirty six traditional style bedrooms, a coach house, feature period paneling and chandeliers and even 4-poster beds. This is a fantastic wedding venue due it being in Wychavon near to the localities of Worcester, Stratford-Upon-Avon, Cheltenham and Gloucester. Emily Louise and the rest of the team there couldn’t be nicer, they even made us a cup of tea upon arrival, this was a great start to the night for our live wedding band.

With about 80 evening guests to entertain and quite a smallish area to set up in (Encroaching slightly onto the dance-floor unfortunately due to it being set back too far) our wedding cover band still knew we could give Lucy, Tim, all their family and friends a night they would never forget. DJ Rob is such a lovely guy that off his own back he shot some video footage on his phone. Subsequently he then very kindly sent them over to Andy who created this “What The DJ Saw” video from it. As you will see Lucy & Tim had an amazing time with ‘Punch The Air‘ performing live for them. The bride, groom and all their guests danced and sung their hearts out all night long as you can see below. We had lots of very flattering comments from guests on the night, some of which had come from as far away as Manchester and Bedfordshire.

First Dance Song Crazy Little Thing Called Love

Our indie rock cover band ‘Punch The Air‘ have added a great new (Well old) song by Queen to our repertoire. ‘Crazy Little Thing Called Love’. This is a huge 1980’s tune that everyone knows and loves and always works brilliantly as a first dance song for your wedding too. It was written by Freddie Mercury and released on the 1980 Queen album ‘The Game’. The single reached No. 2 in the UK charts just pipped to the post by Dr Hook ‘When You’re In Love With A Beautiful Woman’. Mercury stated that he wrote the song as a tribute to Elvis Presley, which is obviously very clearly the case. The room that ‘Punch The Air‘ perform in is called “The Duke Of Sutherland” room. It is just about large enough to hold a stage, lighting rig and dance-floor as you will see from the images below. The sound in the room is very easy for us to mix to a volume that is suitable for the size of the room and the clients requirements. With a small live performance room of this size you are best to chose a band like ‘Punch The Air‘ that have a state of the art electronic drum kit in case there are any volume issues that may occur with a fully acoustic kit.

A little about the venue and why we like performing there so much.

As well as being very local to us Brook Marston Farm Hotel is one of our favourite venues to perform at for many reasons. We can get our vehicles nice and close to the wonderfully sized marquee (And then move them out of sight later) so we can set up nice and rapidly without disturbing you and your guests too much by lugging our heavy gear around . Once inside the marquee we set up in the corner at a forty-five degree angle so you can utilise the dancefloor and we can still play across the room to all your guests and the bar area so everyone can hear us.

Whats the sound in the venue like?

The sound in venue is very easy for us to EQ and obtain a sweet mix from with zero chances of bad feedback due to our state of the art digital mixing desk. Being only a three piece band ‘Punch The Air’ don’t take up that much room in the marquee whereas four piece or larger bands would take up most of the wooden dance-floor leaving you with no actual space to dance on.

A little more about the venue.

The venue itself is nice and close to the M42 (Yet due to all the trees and foliage in its grounds you can’t actually hear the motorway) so it is very easily accessible to all your guests without having to drive into a big bustling major city. It is in a very green and relaxing area with a large field and even a tennis court. The marquee is attached the main building and has its own bar in the same room as where the band perform.

It has a lovely courtyard area between the hotel rooms and the marquee with tables and chairs to chill out on if you want to get away from it all for a short while. Lee will be your main point of contact there during your wedding. He and his staff are very attentive and polite and they will help your wedding go as smooth as possible.

What sort of evening schedule works best for a wedding reception at Brook Marston Farm Hotel?

We can work to whatever schedule you have for your day but we’ve always found that the following seems to work best at at Brook Marston Farm Hotel:

6:00pm –Brook Marston Farm Hotel wedding band ‘Punch The Air’ arrive, set up and soundcheck (Approx 60-90 mins).
Approx 7:30pm – Your evening commences with light DJ services provided by ‘Punch The Air’.
8:15pm – Cake cutting followed by your first dance as a married couple. ‘Punch The Air’ will be waiting on stage ready to kick into our first live performance.
9:00pm – DJ services / Buffet.
10:15pm – ‘Punch The Air’ perform their second live set.
11:00pm – DJ services.
Midnight – Event ends. Coaches & taxis arrive to collect guests.

You’ll find that most bands won’t have REAL live videos on their websites. They will have recorded the audio separately in a studio for many hours then they will have mimed to this pre-recorded audio in their video. It might sometimes be hard to spot, but you can usually tell as its never filmed in front of guests at an actual wedding.

Wollaton Nottingham Wedding Band

Wollaton Hall wedding venue is a beautiful 16th Century Grade 1 listed country house. It stands on a small but prominent hill in Wollaton Park, Nottingham, England. This Notts wedding venue is a thoroughly breathtaking building to have Wollaton Nottingham Wedding Band ‘Punch The Air‘ perform at for your special day and is actually a superstar itself. The outside of Wollaton Hall was used for key scenes in the 2011 Batman film ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ directed by Christopher Nolan and starring Christian Bale. Exterior Wollaton Nottingham Wedding Band

The entrance driveway to Wollaton Hall, Notts, NG8 2AE is off the A609 Wollaton Road. You then drive up a very long road through the park providing you with a stunning view of the venue. It is very close to The University Of Nottingham, Travelodge in Beeston. Which is very handy when you hire a wedding band in Wollaton.

‘Punch The Air‘ Wollaton Nottingham Wedding Band perform in the Great Hall. It features stone archways and a hammer beam ceiling. It is approx 15m x 9m in size with room for approx 150 standing guests. Access to the Grand Hall for wedding party band Punch The Air is up the main front stairs. Then to the rear side of the room by a hallway. The Great Hall does not feature a limiter but volume should be kept to a befitting level so as not to disturb paintings and valuable articles (According to staff there apparently).

Our professional wedding entertainment band are able to gain access to the room via the rear side doors where there are numerous power sockets. This ‘Stage area’ is then best used solely for the party band to perform in. The room features a lot of reverb and echo due to its bare walls and stone floor, so reverb and echo settings are best kept to a minimum when our covers band perform live.

What is the sound of ‘Punch The Air’ like?

The band perform Classic Indie Rock Anthems and also a repertoire of chart and pop music from modern day all the way back to the 1950’s. We come supplied with PA, mixing desk, lighting and DJ services. So you won’t need to hire in any extra third party audio or light companies. Where to place the rest of your wedding reception within the Hall

To the one side of the room is a bar area area which you can use for serving a buffet. Surrounding the Great Hall are various hallways. Incidentally at the rear of the Great Hall is a room full of taxidermied animals such as buffalo, birds, & cats. Also various other strange creatures, you really should take a look sometime. Our indie rock cover band found this especially entertaining.

It’s worth noting that gates are locked at midnight so as such the evenings entertainment needs to be completed by 11.30pm.

Shenstone Wedding Band

Shenstone Village Hall is a fantastic Lichfield wedding venue to have ‘Punch The Air‘ perform as your wedding reception band or event due to its incredible stage. The size and height of the stage gives Indie Cover Band ‘Punch The Air’ Shenstone wedding band plenty of room to move around and entertain guests in a real “Rock & Roll” scenario. Loading the bands equipment in and out of the venue is very easy as there’s a large car park on the premises. There is plenty of room for our indie rock wedding band extensive lighting rig to be erected on stage with the band without it getting in the way of guests.

Shenstone Wedding Band at the Village Hall

The main room in this WS14 village hall is a fantastic size for live entertainment, It’s nice and wide and also just the right length. Some echo off the rear wall can be heard bouncing back onto the stage when you hire a wedding band in Shen Stone. But only when there are no guests in the room. So it is soon soaked up when guests arrive at this Staffordshire party venue.

The is a small rear room which is fantastic for serving drink and nibbles from. There is also a side room where you can set up your buffet. The Village Hall Staffs is visible from the main Birmingham Road. But you have to drive through a winding estate to actually reach it. In the main room tables are best pushed to the sides of the room. This give guests plenty of space for dancing on the hard wooden floors.

About the Vale Royal Abbey Wedding Band venue

Events at this Cheshire wedding band venue are held in three rooms on the first floor, The Great Hall, The Library and The Lounge. The Great Hall is a perfect place to hold your meal and buffet with historic paintings and beautiful beamed ceilings. The Library is where ‘Punch The Air‘ perform live in the bay window section when you hire a wedding band in Northwich. The stage area is a fantastic size and being a bay window it keeps the live wedding entertainment band nicely tucked away. This way we don’t take up any of the dance-floor space.

Being a very old building your wedding band may find that there are certain ringing sounds coming from furniture in the room, but these are easily be EQ’d out on our state of the art mixing desk. The floor is carpeted but a wooden dance-floor can be added on top. The carpet provides a helpful dampening of sound and avoids unwanted echo and reverb.

The Lounge is a bar area where you can relax on leather sofas while taking in local ales and the usual lagers and spirits. This is an excellent spot for your Wedding Party Band to chill out in while not performing.

Accessing this Cheshire wedding band venue.

Access to the stage area can be slightly tricky but is not too much hard work. Parking is on the ground floor to the side of the kitchens. There is a lift up to the 1st floor. Cheshire wedding band may be better off simply using the stairs right next to the lift. Vale Royal Abbey wedding band does not feature a noise limiter, but does have residents living within the building. Therefore it best to keep the volume at a reasonable level as an Indie Rock Cover Band.
