We have been playing together since 2013, and the set-up has never been complicated. Three of us, guitars, bass, drums and vocals, with Andy up front singing and playing bass. There is no backing track doing the hard (Boring) work and no cheesy medley to get through. What you hear is a proper guitar band playing songs that people already know the words to.

Our songs come from the indie, rock and pop world, with a few older favourites thrown in to keep the whole room happy. Playing the Colonnades Ballroom and Palazzo
The hotel itself is a Grade II listed Italianate building, opened in 1860 directly opposite Chester railway station, and it has been hosting weddings for well over a century. The address is The Queen at Chester Hotel, 52 City Road, Chester, Cheshire, CH1 3AH. Its Colonnades Ballroom is dressed in black and gold with a showpiece chandelier, while the Palazzo next door has plenty of daylight and looks out over the Baltic Exchange Gardens. The hotel also has its own restaurant, Kings’ Grill, which is handy for guests staying over.
It is a lovely backdrop for a live band, and having the station on the doorstep makes life easier for friends and family travelling in from Manchester, Liverpool or further afield.

If you would like live music during the ceremony, or when the prosecco starts flowing before the wedding breakfast, Andy also offers a solo acoustic performance earlier on in the day especially for this. It is a gentle way to open the day before the full band takes over later.

We find that one long set works best, played after the cake cutting, buffet and speeches have all finished. Nobody is wandering off to the bar, nobody is mid-sandwich, and you get the very best of the band at your wedding reception with no distractions. That said if you’d rather we performed two sets instead then this really isn’t an issue for us. It’s your wedding so you should always have it your way.
