We formed back in 2013 and have spent the years since building a reputation as a tight, high energy three-piece rather than a covers band that plays it safe. As a Bolehall Swifts wedding band we lean into that reputation rather than shy away from it. There’s no backing tracks filling out our sound and no watered down setlist designed to please nobody in particular. It’s guitar, bass and drums, played properly, with vocals that carry across a packed function room.
Andy fronts the band on vocals and bass, and between songs he’s the one keeping the night moving, taking requests where he can and reading the room so the set never dips. It’s a skill that only really comes from years of doing this in front of real audiences, not rehearsal rooms.
The Setlist: Indie Anthems, Not Wedding Cliches
Our repertoire runs through two decades of guitar music that people actually want to dance to. Expect tracks from The Killers, Kings Of Leon, Arctic Monkeys, Kaiser Chiefs, Oasis and Foo Fighters, alongside a few curveballs like Wheatus and Fountains Of Wayne thrown in to keep things interesting. Why An Indie Rock Wedding Band Suits A Club Setting
Function rooms attached to social and football clubs tend to have a completely different atmosphere to hotel ballrooms or barns, and that works in our favour. Guests are there to let their hair down, the bar’s close by, and there’s usually a bit less formality in the air. As an indie rock wedding band, that suits us down to the ground. We are able to adapt comfortably to a compact stage area without losing any punch in the sound, so smaller function rooms are never an issue for us.
Not Just Weddings
While a wedding reception is the booking we get asked about most, Bolehall Swifts also hosts christenings, baby showers, birthday parties, Christmas parties, celebration dinners and business meetings, and we’re just as at home playing any of these. About Bolehall Swifts Social Club
Bolehall Swifts Social Club is the clubhouse of Bolehall Swifts Football Club, located at 62 Rene Road, Bolehall, Tamworth, B77 3NW. The function room seats up to 120 guests and comes with a fully licensed bar, ample car parking. For business bookings there’s also a projector, large screen and microphone facility available, though it’s the wedding parties and celebration nights where the room really comes alive.
Tamworth And The Surrounding Area
Bolehall sits on the eastern edge of Tamworth, close to the Warwickshire border, which makes the venue an easy option for couples drawing guests from both counties. We regularly play weddings not far from here too, including bookings at Mythe Barn near Atherstone and further afield across Warwickshire and Staffordshire, so we know the local roads, the local venues and generally how to get a room like this one moving.
