A Three-Piece Guitar Band Built For Wedding Receptions

Punch The Air formed in 2013 and has been playing weddings, parties and functions ever since. We are a guitar-based three-piece fronted by singer and bass player Andy Starkey, and our whole approach is built around big, recognisable indie anthems rather than a covers-band greatest hits list that could belong to anyone. Expect a set pulled from bands such as The Killers, Kings Of Leon, Arctic Monkeys, Oasis, Kaiser Chiefs and Foo Fighters, alongside crowd favourites from Muse, Stereophonics, Blink 182 and The Fratellis. You can browse our full song list and repertoire before booking, so you know exactly what to expect on the night.

Here’s a taster of what we sound like live (Unlike most bands who are only showing videos of them miming to a prerecorded backing track in their videos):

Booking Punch The Air As Your Benjamins Halesowen Wedding Band

We regularly play Birmingham wedding band bookings and functions right across the Black Country, and Benjamins in Halesowen is a venue we’re always glad to see on a booking sheet. As a self-contained three-piece we carry our own PA and lighting rig, so there’s no need to hire in extra sound equipment, and we handle our own setup and soundcheck without disrupting your day. Our aim on every wedding reception is simple: a set that starts strong, reads the room, and keeps the dancefloor busy right through to the final song of the night.

Songs and Artists We Cover

Guests tend to remember an indie rock wedding band for the songs it chooses, not just how well it plays them. Alongside the indie staples we work through material from Wheatus, James, Fountains Of Wayne, Feeder, Walk The Moon, George Ezra, The Beatles, Amy Winehouse and Van Morrison, giving us the range to move from an upbeat opener into slower moments and back into full-on party mode. If you’d like the complete list, our repertoire page is the best place to check song by song before your wedding party.

About Benjamins, Birmingham Street, Halesowen

Benjamins Banqueting Suites is based at Birmingham Street, Halesowen, B63 3HN, in a converted former chapel building that has hosted wedding receptions and functions in the town for well over two decades. The venue is set out over two floors, with the Cornbow Room on the lower level offering its own stage area, and the Aldridge and Beaumont Suites upstairs, which can be opened out into one larger open-plan space for bigger wedding parties. That stage space in the Cornbow Room in particular makes for a straightforward, practical setup for a live band on the night.

Halesowen and the Surrounding Area

Halesowen sits close to Birmingham, Dudley and Stourbridge, which means guests travelling in for a wedding at Benjamins often come from right across the Black Country and the wider West Midlands. We’re equally at home playing venues further out too, having covered functions across West Midlands and Worcestershire wedding venues, as well as bookings nearer Wolverhampton and Solihull. If you’re planning a wedding reception a little further afield, our Dudley wedding band page covers another popular venue nearby.

Whether you’re after an indie rock wedding band for a full evening reception or a shorter set to close out the day, Punch The Air can build the night around what works for your wedding party. Get in touch with Andy to talk through timings, set length and pricing for your date at Benjamins.
