Choosing the right live entertainment for your wedding reception is not something to leave to chance. A great band does not just fill the room with sound; it reads the audience, adjusts the energy, and turns an ordinary evening into something people are still talking about years later. The photos and galleries on this page cover a selection of real performances from the summer of 2017, a particularly busy season, and they give a genuine picture of what Punch The Air look like when they are in full flow. From inclusive celebrations at stunning countryside venues in Derbyshire to birthday parties in Lancashire and showcase gigs in Shropshire, this collection covers a wide range of events and locations.
Among the tracks that reliably ignite a dance floor is “Mr Brightside” by The Killers. Written by Brandon Flowers and Dave Keuning and recorded for the band’s debut album Hot Fuss (released in 2004), the track climbed to number 10 on the UK Singles Chart on its first release and has since become one of the most streamed songs in UK chart history. The Killers hail from Las Vegas, and the track’s relentless, jangling momentum makes it a perfect anthem for a packed reception room. Another essential piece of wedding reception live entertainment is “I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor” by the Arctic Monkeys. Written by Alex Turner, the song was released in 2005 as the Sheffield band’s debut single and went straight to number 1 on the UK Singles Chart. It appeared on their landmark first album Whatever People Say I Am, That’s What I’m Not. Its raw, frenetic energy suits a late-night reception crowd perfectly, and it never fails to draw a crowd to the front.

Punch The Air are a fully inclusive same sex wedding band and proud of it. If you are planning a same sex celebration and looking for a wedding band near you, Punch The Air travel throughout Derbyshire, Staffordshire, Cheshire and right across the country.

Birthday Party at Bashall Barn, Clitheroe, Lancashire – August 2017
Bashall Barn near Clitheroe is one of the great hillside event venues in the North West of England. In August 2017 Punch The Air were booked to provide live entertainment for a milestone 50th birthday party here. Clitheroe, Ribchester, Longridge, Whalley and the surrounding villages are all within easy reach for the band, and Lancashire remains one of the most popular areas they perform in outside of the Midlands. Wedding Reception Live Entertainment at Ludlow Brewery, Shropshire – July 2017
Performing at Ludlow Brewery in Shropshire was a genuinely memorable experience. Ludlow is one of the most charming market towns in England, and a brewery setting gives a wedding reception a relaxed, informal character that suits a lot of modern couples. Combining award-winning ales with live indie rock created exactly the kind of loose, celebratory atmosphere that the couple were after. For couples based in south Shropshire, with venues in Ludlow, Craven Arms, Church Stretton or Bridgnorth in mind, Punch The Air are well placed to travel and deliver outstanding wedding reception live entertainment.
